Experiment 2
The two architects I have chosen for Experiment 2 are
- Walter Burley Griffin (1876 - 1937) (ref 1); and
- Tadao Ando (1941 - ) (ref 2)
Tadao Ando is a Japanese Architect who has designed a number of beautiful Modernist buildings (he is also influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright and traditional Japanese architecture). Some of his buildings include the "Church on the Water", the "Church of the Light", and the "Rokko Housing" complex.
Ando won the Pritzker Prize in 1995 (the top Architecture award in the world) and the Pritker website ( http://www.pritzkerprize.com/laureates/1995) has some useful information...

Over the weekend I went to Canberra and took the opportunity to check out the Villa Savoy "tribute" behind the Australian National Museum. (Russell mentioned it during his lecture last week.)
